Heritage Society

 

A new Heritage Society was formed this summer at Covert Farms. It is called Covert Farm Agricultural Preservation Society.

Sponsored by the Covert Family, the museum area is just behind the wine centre and restaurant. Over the next year, volunteers will build an exhibition of machines and techniques of the past, that are sure to educate and entertain visitors of all ages.

The directors are looking for those in the area who may have time to volunteer to maintain the site, work on displays, restore antique equipment or teach farming from the past. Some of the themes are:

• Wheat farming
• Early orchard techniques
• Strange machines
• Local innovations

Do you have something to offer? All volunteers will be treated like family and reap the benefits of belonging to a grassroots organization.
